Single Fiber WDM

Single Fiber or BiDirectional WDM offers a solution to scarce fibers, patch errors and fault reduction. It also saves costs where fiber has to be leased, or simply at time of installation. There is no reason not to use the technology, it is a fact that light can’t collide, even in such a narrow space of a fiber cable. Single Fiber WDM is taking advantage of the fact that the receiver in an optic has a much wider band than the transmitter, by utilising a different wavelength transmitted from the other side the result is a perfect link. Operating on different wavelengths is probably the only difference with Dual Fiber WDM, the Single Fiber Multiplexers have to be deployed in pairs.

Single Fiber CWDM

    • Opticonnect Single Fiber CWDM Multiplexers are available in 2 and 4 link chassis or modules and can be used for data rates from 100 Mbps to 100 Gbps, depending on the optic used for the link, different data rates can be combined as can different protocols. The technology requires no power. Go to the Single fiber CWDM product range.

Single Fiber DWDM

      • Opticonnect Single Fiber DWDM Multiplexers are available in 4, 8 and 16 link chassis or modules and can be used for data rates from 100 Mbps to 100 Gbps, depending on the optic used for the link, different data rates can be combined as can different protocols. The technology requires no power. Go to the Single Fiber DWDM product range.
